At Planeta Bambú, the tacuara reed, more internationally known as bamboo, is the epicentre. The initiative was created to disseminate the regenerative potential of bamboo, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of the role of people in the shared goal of achieving, both in the present and in the future: ecosocial regeneration.
Tacuara reed or bamboo is an ancient plant that offers numerous benefits to both the environment and humans. It grows rapidly and has unique properties such as the ability to regenerate soil, purify water and help reduce Co2 in the environment. It has a wide range of uses, from construction, furniture and clothing to food and medicine. From a more emotional and spiritual perspective, bamboo is also a great teacher, reflecting humility and patience. However, its regenerative capacity depends on how people handle and use it consciously.
Their activities are aimed at diverse individuals and groups who are interested or curious about other ways of living, about having more connection with nature, about the simplicity of earth technology or about the opportunities that bamboo allows. In addition to sharing their knowledge, the interventions encourage the strengthening of bonds with oneself, with other people and with nature.
To this end, the Planeta Bambú team works mainly in four areas, through different formats:
they propose workshops and experiences related to bamboo; from the plant to the object or structure, promoting creativity for the development of skills and talents, taking advantage of the materiality of this resource.
the creation of a collectable series of educational and playful books that inspire about bamboo and the role of people as guardians and caretakers of the Earth.
through meditative music and meditation they create ‘sound journeys’ to integrate bamboo from the subtle.
a school park demonstrating the potential of bamboo with more than 15 different growing species.
Planeta Bambú was co-founded by Annalaura and Lucía, two enterprising, creative and nature-loving women, very committed to contributing to a sustainable legacy for future generations.

The collaborative work between Lighthouse and Planeta Bambú seeks to detect, explore, reflect and focus on all the knowledge and experiences of the initiative, which represent a great contribution to social and ecological sustainability, to make them reach far, to be able to share and spread them with other people and/or initiatives in the world and that, as seeds, can be replicated and grow in other places, generating new knowledge, opportunities and realities.
